Ultralight two-person tent with one side entrance and vestibule. Tropiko is made of Nylon with RipStop treatment and triple double-sided siliconization, guaranteeing a water column of 4,000 mm. The seams of the tropic are covered with silicone paste. The floor is made of Nylon with Polyurethane coating with a water column of 10,000 mm. The rods consist of duralumin segments (DAC Featherlite NSL 7001 T6) with a diameter of 8.5mm and 7mm. Thanks to its packability, this tent is very popular among bikers, cyclists and minimalists.
Ventilation
It is located at the top of the side walls and at the foot. The canopies of the ventilation windows are shaped so that they are not tilted by the wind. This prevents leakage even during rain with strong wind.
Tent concept
is based on the principle that the rod structure is strung in tunnels outside the tropics. The tropiko and the inner tent (hung from the inside of the tropiko) are erected at the same time after threading the rods. The main advantage of this concept is that the inner tent can be detached from the tropic and the tropic can be erected separately as a single-shell tent without a floor.
Other advantages are: the quick construction of the tent does not get the inner tent wet during construction in the rain
Tent construction
We build the Tropiko by pushing the rod through the tunnel. We insert the ends of the rod into the brass eyes on the loops of the lower edge and erect the short segments in the place of the legs. The tent is not self-supporting, it must be anchored with at least a minimum number of pegs (4 pcs). During the first construction, we hang the inner tent in the loops on the inside of the tropic. Finally, we turn off the tropic with plastic clips at the bottom edge of the tent, or turn it off with tension cords.
